Why Am I Being Redirected?
Several years ago, publishers of The Slidell Sentry News made a tremendously generous donation to the nonprofit organizations of St. Tammany Parish: free hosting of website services through TSI Networks. The Art Association was one of the beneficiaries of this donation, and our website was hosted there for years... until Hurricane Katrina.
Like so many other businesses in Slidell, Lady K demolished the newspaper's offices, and it was just a matter of time before hosting for the nonprofits who still used TSI Networks expired. After Katrina, the Sentry merged with the Covington News Banner to create today's St. Tammany News, but, for those nonprofits who still had a free website, there was no longer a host and websites we no longer accessible. The staff of TSI Networks was helpful in identifying what had happened, but regrettably couldn't fix the problem. STAA needed a new web host.
As quickly as we could, and with the generous assistance of a few dedicated volunteers, we launched a new website with another host. As an all-volunteer organization with facility problems of its own (thanks again, Katrina), this took some time--but in fall of 2007, the new site was up!
Now we have just a bit longer to wait before the old website can be changed to reroute visitors to the new site.
